Robert (Bob) Gangi is an activist, community organizer and public policy advocate in New York City for over 40 years. Before he founded the Police Reform Organizing Project in 2011, and served as Executive Director of the Correctional Association for over 29 years. He is a recognized expert on criminal justice and law enforcement issues with a particular focus on police and prison concerns. He has written numerous op-ed pieces for the New York Times, Newsday, and Albany Times Union. He is also the recipient of the American Ethical Union’s prestigious Elliott-Black Award and a board member of the SSB.
